I'm working as a simple career or better to say non-executive at any company that need my qualification and fit with my experience. I've been working for this scope of job for 5 years. The longer you in the industry you build, the highest you will get paid but its depend on who are you working with. For better is in government side but its hard to get through the test and interview and also due to highest applicant apply for the job unless you are the best. 

Just like I said, the longer you working at the scope of work you do now, the higher they can give you. Working either as a general clerk, or any administrative work, most of important thing they will see is your experience and 

what are the things you can do and what you have been do before. 

Scope of work. Employer will see and ask you what you can do and what you have been do. As a clerk, for sure they need you to be expert at Microsoft office like words, excel, power point and good at answering a phone call. Other languages you can spoke could be an advantage to you. In Malaysia is especially Chinese dialect. 

Expertise. Other than your scope of job, they will see your other expertise. It will be useful and advantage for both side especially if you can do 2 job and 1 person. For example Administrative and account. Nowadays company will given a highest salary for those who can do a double job in one career. Other than that, its also a benefit for you to get a higher place in the company such as Personal Assistant or Manager. 

Relationship. Talking about relationship, this is not about a love affair. When you are working under your relatives supervision, they will recommend you to their boss and the best part is, you get paid in highest salary without a hard work. Advantage to you is people around you will treat you better on first time you working in. For sure, no bully!

Qualification. The highest you qualification is, the highest they will pay you. Even you can do a lot of things, company also will see your qualification. Without that, they won't interview you. For my career the lowest they want to take is O'Level and the highest is in bachelor in administrative. As I mentioned just now, higher qualification will lead you a better position such as Human Resources Executive. The only things you have to do is supervised worker under you control. 

Anything you can do will lead you a better place. But as a employee, the most important thing you have to do is honest, discipline, smart work, can work as a team, helpful and can help the company to earn more.
